Wellington representin'
Hi All~
So occasionally I stop into the webpage o' missions, and even though this has been self-admitted by members of the Jesus Film, pretty much all of the posts are from them. So, I thought I'd switch it up and at least throw something on here to say "hi."
However, what I will do is say more than hi. I want all of you to know that the Lord is doing some sweet things in Wellington. At the beginning of this school year (which began in February), we ran a campaign called "TuneIN," which was a fantastic campaign developed by the staff here in NZ. In the two weeks that followed after collection of surveys, we had 16(!) people indicate decisions to follow Christ. Now, we continually pray that all of those are legitimate, but some of them have been pretty difficult to contact since then. However, many of them are still seeking after the Lord and desiring to grow in their relationships with Him.
Apart from that, we have something like 30 students involved in small groups led by our staff members, that we hope to turn over to student leadership within the next year. At this stage we are training 4 or 5 students to become those CSL's (Committed Student Leaders) that we hope will take over ownership of Student Life. I have one small group that is composed of solely Samoan and Malaysian students, and probably about half of the students that are involved are not Kiwis.
I must be going, but I wanted to let you all know that it is an incredible privilege for us (me and my team) to be serving here in Wellington and to be a part of what the Lord is doing. Pray for us - pray that the Lord would cultivate within the students hearts a dedication to seeing the gospel proclaimed through the university and throughout the nations. Grace and peace to all the saints.
